Blogger Rabea’s 2019 bucket list – seven things I want to do

We’ve survived January and the rest of the year stretches before us – rich with promise. Time to think about what the future holds. Need ideas for your own bucket list? Rabea from “The Golden Kitz” blog has some inspiring ideas.

Some folk don’t believe in making resolutions but I love sitting down and having a think about what my dreams and aspirations for the New Year are. Every year I draw up a bucket list with places I want to visit and goals I want to achieve. Whether it’s a travel destination, a sporting challenge or a new hobby – I write it all down and hang it over my desk to remind me to stay focused. These are my seven bucket list entries for 2019. Maybe one or two will leave you feeling inspired.

Run a half marathon

This one’s been playing on my mind for a while now, so I’ve decided 2019 is going to be the year I knuckle down and get it done. I’ve already entered so there’s no backing out now. All I need to do now is run. And run. And run some more. Eek

Enjoy a picnic day with friends

After the sensational summer of 2018, I’m hoping there’ll be a repeat performance this year. Because sunshine means fun time and it’s the perfect opportunity to enjoy a picnic with friends. Pick up a few bottles of wine, some cold salads and a selection of antipasti and head to a lake or a nearby meadow. My tip: take the hassle out of picnic prep by popping into Vapiano en route and ordering your faves “to go”.

Take a trip to Copenhagen

I love a weekend city trip! Planning a few mini breaks throughout the year is a great way of escaping the daily grind. I’ve been keen to visit Copenhagen for a long time so this year it’s happening. The flights are booked and I’m heading north in May.

Make time for a date night

My partner and I have decided to make date night a regular feature in 2019. I love the idea of consciously taking time out for one another. We want to use our date nights to try new things together, like 3D mini golf, drive-in cinema, a salsa lesson or a cocktail evening.

Relax on a wellness day

I’ve got tonnes of vouchers I’ve been gifted that I never find time to use. But this year I’m cashing them in and treating myself to a day of lazing around in the pool, the hot tub and the sauna. Bring it on.

Host a pyjama party with your besties

Remember when sleepovers were the best thing since sliced bread? Me too, which is exactly why I’m throwing a pyjama party for my favourite girls. We slap on facemasks, binge on Netflix series and chat. If you’re hosting, don’t forget the three P’s: pyjamas, Prosecco and pizza. And remember that Vapiano also does home delivery so there’s no need to venture out in a onesie.

Climb a mountain

I’m definitely not a fan of high-adrenaline activities like skydiving, paragliding or – heaven forbid – parachuting. It just seems like an incredibly long way to fall. But one adventure I’ve pencilled in for 2019 is to climb Germany’s highest mountain, the Zugspitze. And if everything goes according to plan, September could be my time to shine. I can’t wait!
